Corrections Policy
Polygonface Dispatch corrects factual errors promptly, distinguishes minor edits from material changes, and avoids hiding substantive updates.
Polygonface Dispatch aims to correct factual errors quickly, clearly, and proportionately.
Material corrections
If a story contains a substantive factual error, we aim to correct it and update the public article record in a way that is visible to readers.
That may include:
- revising the text
- updating the article timestamp
- adding a correction or update note
- clarifying what changed and why
Minor edits
Minor fixes such as grammar, punctuation, formatting, or obvious non-substantive cleanups may be made without a formal correction note.
Clarifications and updates
Sometimes the issue is not a factual error but a need for clearer wording, fuller context, or a meaningful new development. In those cases, we may update or clarify the piece without treating every change as a correction, but we still aim not to conceal material shifts.
How to request a correction
Send correction requests to editorial@polygonface.com and include:
- the article URL
- the passage at issue
- the proposed correction
- supporting evidence, if available
Good-faith correction requests are part of the reporting process, not a nuisance to be ignored.
